Vegan Breadless Burgers

In this meal prep for Vegan Breadless Burgers, I kept it super simple. It literally takes about about 45 minutes to cook and about 15 minutes to prep. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Burgers of choice
  • Portabella Mushrooms
  • Liquid Smoke
  • Lettuce
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes

Prep

Before prepping the toppings, let’s get the grill fired up. Depending on the size of grill that’s being used you want to use half or less than half a bag of charcoal. Maybe even wood chips. Once that’s setup, let the charcoal turn as ashy as possible. By allowing the charcoal to get like this it helps to burn off the lighter fluid so that the food doesn’t taste like either of the two.

While waiting on the charcoal to get ready, marinate the mushrooms in the liquid smoke for about 20 minutes or overnight to reduce any prep time. Then go into cutting up the toppings. Clearly, there was a pickle and other condiments missing from mine so add whatever you like.

Final Thoughts

As stated in the description of the video this was a flop. Simply because the mushrooms didn’t cook as tender. I did eventually ditch the mushrooms for sandwich rounds. However, the flavor was everything. So I will definitely revisit this quick meal.
