Newbie Natural 101: Part 3

Guess what day it is? Newbie Natural Monday! When I started doing these post every Monday I didn't think nothing of it and was moreso doing it for myself because I knew very little about caring for my natural hair. Now, I have tons of women that I know and strangers asking me questions. Which, I don't mind so lets get to it. Ladies, you want a product that doesn't leave your hair dry or crunchy. Be sure to chose a one brand that will give you maximum results. It's okay to experiment with other products but first find out what works. Here's a list of the top 5 brands that I've used or have good ratings.
  • Shea Moisture
  • Eden Body Works
  • Cream of Nature
  • Design Essentials
  • Cantu
Choose products with no harsh chemicals:
  • Dyes
  • Silicones
  • Paraben
  • Paraffin
  • Petroleum
  • Mineral Oil
Your hair Regime should look like this.
After washing, conditioning/deep conditioning, and applying a leave-in conditioner be sure to add oil to seal in moisture. This can be done while your hair is wet or dry. The choice is yours.
Use satin wraps/bonnetts and in between your bi-weekly shampooing try to incooporate a ACV Rince. Apple Cider Vinegars acidity is somewhat close to natural hair and is a good conditioner, cleaning agent, and an effective germ killer. What apple cider vinegar does is it helps with balancing the ph of your hair and removes buildup that can result from the use of products.
